Royal Never Give Up became the champion of the Huya Dota2 Winter Invitational
The last major Dota 2 tournament this year has ended. From December 13 to 28, teams from the Chinese and Asian regions fought for the title of champion of the Huya Dota2 Winter Invitational, and today there was the final point. In a stubborn struggle, Royal Never Give Up defeated Team Aster with a 3:2 score in the grand final. With this victory, the team earned a prize of $30,500.
Interestingly, both teams that played in the finals have never become champions in tournaments after the fall reshuffle.
Grand final
Before the start of this fight, all analysts gave an unconditional victory to Team Aster. At many bookmakers, the odds for their victory ranged from 1.2 to 1.3. And this was fair because the teams had already met at the tournament's group stage, and then Team Aster didn't give a single chance to their opponent. Also, right before the start of the Huya Dota2 Winter Invitational, Royal Never Give Up replaced two players.
The match itself turned out to be incredibly interesting. Both teams began to figure out how to play with the new patch and even use small tricks. The third map became especially powerful because Royal Never Give Up played from a large gap in gold during the entire game, but Arc Warden could make a comeback.
A right attitude and small but sincere support from the stands allowed Royal Never Give Up to get together and become the Huya Dota2 Winter Invitational champion, contrary to all analysts' predictions!
