WePlay AniMajor had over 640,000 viewers at its peak
The second major of this season, the WePlay AniMajor, has come to an end, and with it, the statistics of its popularity appeared at once. It peaked at 645,000 viewers, which is 40,000 higher than the One Esports Singapore Major 2021 result, but 200,000 lower than the largest major in history, The Kiev Major 2017.
Despite the lower peak, WePlay AniMajor's total viewed hours surpassed 37 million hours. This is almost 20% higher than The Kiev Major 2017 and almost twice as much as the One Esports Singapore Major 2021.
The most popular match of the tournament was the Lower bracket final between Evil Geniuses and T1. This match set the record. It is interesting that the grand final between Evil Geniuses and PSG.LGD at the peak was watched by almost 200,000 people less.
WePlay AniMajor 2021 was held from June 2 to 13 in Kiev. The strongest teams from all over the world competed for a prize pool of $500,000 prize money and 2,700 DPC points. The winner of the tournament was the Chinese team PSG.LGD.
