Aurora and Heroic Punch Tickets to The International 2025
The first pair of teams to make it to The International 2025 through Closed Qualification are Aurora and Heroic, who have won their respective regional events.
Not coming off as a big surprise, Aurora successfully dominated the competition in the Eastern European qualifiers. The top teams in the region were directly invited, and the only teams that posed a threat in Aurora’s run was Natus Vincere, who took a map off of them. However, the rest of the run was flawless, as Aurora dropped no maps at all, taking down Cyber Goose 3-0 in the Grand Final.
The South American qualifiers were much closer. Three main teams, OG.LATAM, Heroic, and Edge were highly competitive throughout the process. On the final day of the qualifiers, Heroic had to go through the Lower Bracket Final against OG.LATAM, and met Edge in the Grand Final for qualification.
It was an extremely hectic day with lots of comebacks, with almost every game reaching the later portions. In total, Heroic played 7 maps with a total game duration of 360 minutes. Wisper and the team were playing non-stop Dota, but their efforts were not in vain, as they took down Edge 3-1 in the Grand Final to book a spot at Hamburg.
The International 2025 is set to take place in Germany, and will run from September 3 to 14. Currently, only 10 teams have secured their spots, as there are four more regional qualifiers to go through.
