Falcons, Tundra, And Heroic, Join 9 Other Teams At ESL One Birmingham 2024
The twelve participants at ESL One Birmingham have been decided, with Team Falcons, Tundra Esports, and Heroic completing the list of teams.
Team Falcons Make It Out Of MENA
What a surprise… The MENA region has not developed at all since the year started. Nigma Galaxy falls short again, and PSG Quest meets Team Falcons in the Grand Final for the millionth time.
However, something changed, as PSG Quest put up a decent fight as the series went the distance. The match wasn’t too interesting, as both teams took turns stomping each other.
The Falcons began the series with a 2-0 lead, but PSG Quest back and took two maps to keep the series level. The ending was anticlimactic, with the favorites winning the decisive map to claim MENA's slot.
Tundra Esports Upset OG
OG knocked Tundra Esports down to the Lower Bracket, and Pure and the boys had to fight through elimination. The two teams met again in the Grand Final; everyone thought OG had it. However, this was not the case.
The first two maps started even, but Tundra took great team fights to win the first two games. The third map was the most entertaining one in the series. It was a back-and-forth game, which OG took after some great plays from bzm’s Ember Spirit.
Game 4 of the series was also entertaining, as we got a Meepo from Pure. Tundra built up a massive lead at the 26-minute mark but struggled to end the game. After a few throws, Tundra got the job done, completing the upset and qualifying for Birmingham.
Heroic Reverse Sweep BOOM Esports
BOOM Esports came into the Grand Final as quite a heavy underdog against Heroic. Surprisingly, BOOM Esports started swinging and won the first two maps convincingly.
Thankfully for Heroic fans, the team kept their calm and stayed focused. Heroic proceeded to stomp the next three games to finish the reverse sweep and book tickets to England.
