Team Falcons Win Their First Tournament Of The New Season
After a disappointing performance at PGL Wallachia Season 2, Team Falcons have redeemed themselves after taking down Tundra Esports in a tight five-map series to win BetBoom Dacha Belgrade 2024. Their efforts throughout the past two weeks have been rewarded with $400,000.
This victory marks the first S-Tier trophy for the Team Falcons squad since its inception, and the first one in the 2024-2025 season.
The two teams traded maps throughout the first four games, where almost all games had a clear winner since the beginning. However, the final map delivered a cinematic end to the tournament.
Though Ursa is not a popular hero, it was the hero Nightfall first made a name for himself with when he entered the professional scene. Prioritizing comfort over meta, Nightfall picked his trusty Ursa in the tournament-deciding map.
Nightfall showed his mastery of Ursa, as he went 15-0 at one point in the game. However, he was the only player on the team that had ample amounts of farm, and Team Falcons could end his beyond Godlike streak at the 34-minute mark.
The game was dragged on to the later portions, and Team Falcons started building saving items such as Wind Wakers to kite Nightfall Ursa and provide saves for 33’s Enigma. Team Falcons showed their year-long team chemistry was much stronger than the new Tundra squad, and eventually took the map after 72 minutes of play.
Unfortunately, Tundra Esports failed to win yet another tournament, but we must remember that BetBoom Dacha Belgrade 2024 was their first rodeo together as a new roster. They bow out of the tournament with $200,000.
BetBoom Dacha Belgrade 2024 was a $1,000,000 tournament that ran from October 19 to 26. DreamLeague Season 24 will begin immediately after.
